Michael and Sarah Windsor have run this 28 acre boarding and instruction facility in the southern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut region for more than 20 years. The farm is intimate and horse friendly, with 10-15 horses on the property and all-day grass turnout for all. Indoor and outdoor riding rings are spacious and well-maintained.
Training and lessons are available from the Windsors, as well as Martha Pena, a centered riding and huntseat equitation professional. FEI level dressage instructor Morgan Adair is a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist. Her clear and concise training approach paves the way for a more harmonious, balanced connection with your horse, no matter what your level or discipline. Colleen Bell also offers beginner instruction and is a certified NARHA Therapeutic Riding Instructor.
Michael Windsor has been shoeing and training horses for over 25 years. He specializes in colt starting and foundation work and therapeutic horseshoeing. Sarah's many years of riding, showing and caring for horses of all ages brings a sensitive and knowledgeable approach to barn management. Together they provide a level of horsemanship not easily matched in similar facilities. The care is exceptional and personalized. Canonchet Farm is a place both people and horses call "home."
Full board is currently $625. per month. Canonchet Farm is located 1 mile from Exit 2, Interstate 95 at 39 Canonchet Road, Hope Valley RI 02832. Neighboring towns of Stonington and Mystic CT are just down the road.
